If you have plans to stop by our offices, we encourage you to donate a new, unwrapped toy at our Toys for Tots drop-off point.
Did you know that the Toys for Tots campaign was first founded as a simple charitable endeavor in Los Angeles in 1947?
Major Bill Hendricks and other Marine reservists worked together to distribute toy collection bins around Warner Bros. movie theaters, resulting in the accumulation of 5,000 toys for local children that year.
Booming from the campaign's success, The U. S. Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots Program became a popular national movement in 1948.
Since its creation, the foundation has aspired to give gifts to less fortunate children to provide hope during the holidays, and throughout their lives. The organization also values a grand sense of community, and aims to connect people with a common, passionate cause.
Further utilizing their efforts, Marine Corps League detachments and other regional associations also began collecting toys in 1996 to broaden the program's outreach. The foundation also holds events and volunteer activities throughout the rest of the year to increase awareness and support.
